In an effort to promote a green, sustainable future, Panasonic has launched the ‘train of ideas’ to showcase various concepts for an eco friendly way of life. This ‘train of ideas’ is an interactive exhibition on the wheels which introduces a novel approach to the reduction of carbon footprint left by humanity. The purpose of this exhibition is to share ‘eco ideas’ with various European countries and encourage a sustainable lifestyle for the citizens of Europe. The exhibition will roll all across the continent and stop at various cities to popularize the concept of green living. The train carries more than 70 exhibits and 26 touch screens to promote numerous ‘eco ideas’ that are practiced in Hamburg. It also features various eco friendly projects from other cities like Vienna, Oslo, Copenhagen etc. The exhibition touches on the aspects of urban lifestyle and shows path breaking solutions for the protection of climate an preservation of nature.
However, the highlight of the exhibition is the ‘eco ideas’ house which shows how energy can be produced, saved, stored and managed in households to reduce carbon emission to the minimum level. The train has an entire carriage dedicated to this exhibit. This exhibition is run by the city of Hamburg in Germany. The city has earned great reputation for demonstrating how technology and green ideas can thrive side by side. European Commission has crowned it as ‘European Green Capital’ in 2011. The wheels of train started rolling on April 15, 2011. It will travel across 18 cities including Brussels, Paris, Warsaw, Barcelona, Marseilles and Vienna before the end of its journey on October 23. You can track the real time location of the train by visiting hamburggreencapital. Apart from this train of ideas, Panasonic is also promoting green ideas by providing solar panels in its information pavilion in Hamburg. The pavilion was opened on January 13, this year.
