Eco Factor: Device to monitor electricity consumption.
The need to reduce energy being consumed in an average household has forced manufacturers to develop energy monitoring systems that in a way tempt the user to save the precious resources which might not be available in the future. We’ve seen some ingenious ways to monitor energy in your household in the past too, and here we are with another simple yet efficient way to monitor energy in your house.
Known as the Wattcher, the energy monitor has been designed by Marcel Wanders for Dutch company Innovaders. The device plugs into a standard electric socket and displays the amount of energy being consumed in a house on its screen. The designers hope that if users are informed about the energy they are consuming, they’ll be tempted to reduce that number for environmental and monetary benefits.
