Eco Factor: Steamer uses solar energy to heat dishes.

You would be saved of eating cold food on a camp if Matt Antony’s steamer makes it to the real world. Inspired by solar energy and photovoltaics, Matt has designed a solar steamer that lets you heat food in seconds using nothing other than the energy of the sun.

Based on the Japanese bento box, the Stack Solar Steamer allows sunlight to pass through the glass and vacuum space and is then absorbed as heat by the dark tinted interior. Heat is unable to be transmitted back and ends up heating the food dishes inside. The glass containers slide out for separate loading and storage and also allowing the user to take home prepared food for lunch, thus reducing litter.

The designer has also thought of using a white neoprene sleeve that blocks sunlight and keeps food cool till the time you’re ready to heat food by exposing it to the sun.
