Eco Factor: Crop protector powers itself using solar energy.

Protecting farmlands from animals using scary objects is a thing of the past, and inventors are using the latest advancements in technology to do the same job in a more refined way. The Digital Scarecrow designed by KyungRyul Lim and Miyeon Kim is one such gadget that detects animals using an infrared ray sensor eye with a 16,529-square-meter range.

If the instrument detects any animal or even a bird in its vicinity it emits an ultrasonic wave, which does not do any damage to the animal but makes them know that they can’t trespass here. Standing on tripod legs for stability, the device powers itself using solar panels mounted on its wings.
