Eco Factor: Solar-powered LED lighting system.

Lighting systems have always kept designers on their toes to develop the most amazing and the most ecofriendly system of all. Riding the bandwagon is designer Yana klimava with a light she calls the Riflessi. The Riflessi lighting system is designed in two parts – the mirror droplets and the fabric, and can work all through the day.

During day time the fabric captures sunlight and the mirror droplets simply reflect sunlight across the room. During night the fabric makes use of the energy generated during daytime and powers up the LEDs embedded into the fabric. Placing the water droplets on the fabric creates a beautifully illuminated pattern. Users can change the pattern by changing the position of the fabric.

The Dark Side:

The lighting system is more of a toy and has very little practical value. It’s good for anyone who has ample of time to keep shifting the patterns but is simply too boring otherwise.
