Eco Factor: Moto W233 Renew made from recycled plastic bottles.

Escalating its green movement, Motorola has launched a new cellphone which is green in more than just one way. The Moto W233 Renew is made from recycled plastic water bottles, has an energy efficient battery and is shipped in recycled packaging materials. The packaging also contains a postage-paid recycling envelop to ease its recycling process.

The company is claiming that the phone is the first certified Carbonfree® cellphone on the market. Motorola, through an alliance with Carbonfund, is also offsetting the amount of energy required to manufacture, distribute and operate the phone. Currently the Renew is a T-Mobile exclusive and will be available for $10 with a two-year contract.

Talking about its feature list, of course you won’t find many iPhone-ish features in there, but by spending just $10 you can get up to 9 hours of talk time, dual-band GSM, MMS and GPRS, a decent music player, up to 2GB of memory and a standby time of approximately 18 days.
