Eco Factor: Portable solar-charger for mobile devices.
Industrial designer Emily Lai is adding a new dimension to green tech with a concept solar charger she calls the Mor-Power. The device is designed to power mobile devices such as cellphones and portable music players on the move, with the 0.5V it generates by harnessing sun’s energy.
If developed, the device will be made available in a way that follows the “buy one-gift one” system, according to which, for every one charger that is sold, one is gifted to the deprived in developing and underdeveloped nations. The solar charger is to be made available in a wide range of colors to suit the requirements of different individuals.
