Eco Factor: Concept desktop gets powered by the sun.
The LawnPC showed us a way computers could be made green, though the technology used in that PC was a bit too futuristic. Here is a concept monitor that uses current technology to power a monitor with solar energy. Designed by Mayyen Chan, the LMacTouch is just like any other touchscreen desktop like the HP TouchSmart, but the feature setting it apart from the rest is the use of solar energy.
The adjustable angle gives the desktop an ergonomic touch while the solar panels incorporated at its rear offer an option to the user to use solar energy as a power source.
The Dark Side:
The use of solar panels on the rear would mean that a potential user would have to keep the desktop’s back facing toward the sun, which would make it difficult to read the display.
