Eco Factor: Modular and sustainable furniture system for outdoors.
Designed by Mitch Crawford, the Infuego offers a stylish, trendy and green alternative for outdoor entertainment. The modular furniture system is ideal for garden environments and is aimed to promote social interaction with exciting seating positions and a sculptural center piece offering warmth, light and security into the twilight hours.
The design of the Infuego symbolizes the unique identity of nature in both its flowing physical appearance and the values it embodies, taking visual cues from the diverse and unique styles of Henry Moore. All materials intend to be sustainable and cyclic in their manufacture and lifespan, with minimum toxic releases during either their production or construction. Materials include bamboo, expanded rubber foam, toughened low-iron glass, composite reinforced ceramic and repurposed biodegradable wood for the bench called Maplex™.
To maximize the experience of the product there are numerous hidden features that will make the process more intuitive and fulfilling. The Ecosmart™ burner allows for unprecedented flexibility, it requires no flue or hard connection and is fuelled by renewable green energy, de-natured ethanol, making it a green open fireplace.
The Infuego also houses a control panel that allows the user to activate the fire before they take a seat, they can then also control the intensity of the fire, check fuel levels and activate/lock the safety sensors, which behave the same way as parking sensors. If, for example, an inquisitive youngster or some flammable debris enters the fire pit, the sensors will automatically extinguish the flame. When Infuego is not in use the users can conceal the pit with a tabletop that houses a solar panel, while out of use the bench can then gather renewable energy ready for the next time it’s operational.
