Candles have for long graced our celebrations but as people are getting more conscious about the environment, polluting candles are soon losing their importance. LEDs are the latest craze on the market that thrill everyone with their soft light and energy-efficiency. Industrial designer Jasper Hou has tried to improve upon the trend with added sustainability.
Jasper is the designer of Time Your Light, which converts mechanical energy into electricity to power the LEDs. The light comes with a timer base that is to be rotated by the user to wind up the crank mechanism on the inside. Once wound, the system starts to unwind, slowly converting the mechanical energy into electricity. The amount of winding depends on the time the light glows.
