Eco Factor: Efficient CFL light packed in a light bulb.
GE knows very well that selling CFL lights to people passionate about incandescent light bulbs won’t be an easy task. However, the need to go green has made GE think out of the box and develop something that should be able to attract people of both persuasions. The company has developed a new Energy Smart CFL bulb, containing a fluorescent bulb in an incandescent-shaped outer casing. The bulb has the same size as a 60-watt incandescent but consumes far less energy to give the same amount of illumination.
The Dark Side:
We really appreciate the efforts put in by the company to develop something as unique and unconventional as this new bulb. If the company is able to keep the costs down then we don’t see a reason people won’t go for it.
