Eco Factor: Air purified based on the process of photosynthesis.
The overuse of fossil fuels is not only showing its effects outdoors, but is also having a considerable impact on the air we breathe when indoors. The deteriorating quality of indoor air has tempted designers to come up with portable devices that help clean air by removing all pollutants.
Industrial designer Olivia Bradateanu is using the natural processes of photosynthesis in her concept air purifier dubbed FLO2. The object communicates input, output and transformation and invites the user to interact with it in a more sensual manner, by cradling it when transporting it and gliding a long sliding button when turning it on.
The product lets users know the quality of air they are breathing and purifies it by simply trapping the harmful particles. The portable device can be carried along or placed at a favorable place inside a house.
