Eco Factor: Energy-efficient LCD monitors.

Eizo Nanao Corporation has announced two LCD monitors, the 23-inch FlexScan EV2303W and the 20-inch FlexScan EV2023W, that are among the world’s first monitors to receive the just-announced TCO Displays 5.0 certification. They are also the first EIZO products to achieve EPEAT Gold status. The monitors come with unique motion sensors that turn off the monitor when no one is viewing it.

Dubbed the EcoView Sense Feature, the motion sensing system senses the presence of a viewer and turns off the monitor when the user has been away for more than 40 seconds, and then resumes normal operation when the user returns. The smart sensor can differentiate between animate and inanimate objects so it will still enter power save mode if it detects an object such as the backrest of a chair.
