Eco Factor: Newest LCD from Asus uses 20% less power.
Asus has introduced a new range of LCD monitors at CeBIT2009 boasting ecofriendly credentials. The newly introduced VH192C and VH196 are consistent with the objectives of Green Asus. The company claims that these newest monitors utilize low levels of mercury during construction and just two lamps that account for up to 20% reduction in energy usage.
This reduction in energy usage didn’t have any effect on the brightness and the aspect ratio courtesy a new technology known as the Aspect Control Technology that delivers 4:3 aspect ratio for seamless picture quality.
The Dark Side:
The efforts put in by electronics manufacturers all over the world are highly commendable. However, with use of high-end power guzzling computers, monitors like this won’t really have an impact, neither on the environment nor on your bills.
