Eco Factor: System cleans ambient air using HEPA filters.
The rise in the number of cars not just clogs the highways, but also fills the air with toxic emissions that reach our lungs as we breathe. Trees act as natural filters cleansing the air around, but the demand for more space for urban skyscrapers comes at the cost of trees, leaving the environment in jeopardy.
Industrial designer Seung Jun Jeong has tried to solve the issue with technology to the rescue. Seung has designed an artificial tree that acts just like the real one, by cleaning the air in its vicinity. The system known as Air Tree carries an electronic fan that sucks in ambient air and pumps it through the HEPA filters to remove all particulates present in the air.
The air then comes out from the top of the tower, which also carries an LED lamp to illuminate the seating area incorporated in the Air Tree. The system can be mounted on streets or in a garden to clean ambient air.
