Eco Factor: LED-equipped dress harnesses wind energy for power.
The lightweight and energy-efficient credentials of LEDs have made designers think of countless application areas. Dutch Designer Stijn Ossevoort believes that in addition to illuminating your home in an efficient manner, LEDs can also be used to add some light to your party wear.
The designer has come up with a dress dubbed Flare, which is embroidered with LEDs that are powered by wind energy. As the wearer walks down the street, the dress glows in different patterns. We’re not really sure about the kind of wash that should be safe for this dress, but we’re hoping that the dress shouldn’t be disposable to add to the growing problem of e-waste.
