Eco Factor: Children’s website teaches the art of environmental conservation.
Australia-based Sharon Lowe has created her very own internet ecosystem aimed to offer kids a fun way to learn the art of environmental conservation. Called the Habitat Heroes, the webpage has been designed in a simple manner and encourages kids to perform simple tasks, which are beneficial for the environment. Sharon is working along with established charities such as Greening Australia and PlayPumps International and kids playing Habitat Heroes could silently support these causes as well.
Apart from playing and learning simple yet beneficial things, the children playing Habitat Heroes would also be allowed to discuss issues raised in the game with other fellows in secure chat rooms. While no direct advertisements would be displayed on the pages, the webpage would be able to generate income for its affiliated charities through corporate sponsorships. Aimed primarily at six-to-12-year-olds, the site is currently running in beta with an official launch on May 1.
