Eco Factor: Zero-emission electric car gets runs on linear motors when more speed and range is required.

The better the range and speed of an electric car, the more expensive it gets, and if you want an electric car that could take you across cities and towns just like your traditional gas-powered car does, you’re in need of some luck and huge amounts of money. Industrial designer Christian Förg is trying to find a feasible solution to all these problems associated with electric cars without increasing their cost by much. The ingenious designer has unveiled a new concept, the Speedway Electric Car, which alters its power source and shape according to the distance you are to travel.

For a routine drive to the office and back home, the vehicle runs on its electric engine, which offers a range of up to 200 miles, and when you’ve to travel more than that, the car draws power from linear motors that are embedded into the highways. To run on this external power source, the car alters its shape to be more aerodynamic, which also alters the seating arrangement to a more relaxing one.

The contactless propulsion system relies on magnetic fields, which betters the range and the speed of the car and also charges the car’s on-board batteries to make sure your run doesn’t end abruptly. The designer has also proposed next-gen parking towers, where the cars can reach automatically once you’re out of it.
