Eco Factor: All-electric Radical SR0 to attempt to cross Pan-American Highway.

After thinking about racing in the Zero Emission Race around the world in 80 days, the Racing Green Endurance team from Imperial College London have set their eyes on the crossing the world’s longest highway on a zero-emission vehicle. The team has put together an all-electric version of Radical SR8, now called SR0, to demonstrate the potential of electric cars.

The team is going try and cross the entire 16,000-mile stretch of the Pan-American Highway on the four-wheeled road-legal vehicle. The modified vehicle has a range of 242 miles and is powered by a 53KWh lithium-ion battery pack. The batteries provide 500hp to a twin motor setup, enabling the vehicle to accelerate to 60mph in just 7 seconds. The top speed of the vehicle has been limited to 124mph.
