Out of the total amount of greenhouse gases that get emitted in the atmosphere, a major percentage comes from vehicles that are powered by fossil fuels. While most auto manufacturers are unveiling their ecofriendly rides for a better future, industrial designers are helping them get the most out of their green machines. Auto designer Victor Uribe has unveiled the Mitho concept car designed for the SF Competition 2009 that gets powered by electric batteries fueled by solar energy.

The vehicle carries ample space for two passengers and is equipped with a solar array on the roof that charges the vehicle’s onboard battery pack. In addition to the use of solar energy, the vehicle also uses panels made from recycled wood, which lowers the Mitho’s carbon footprint even further.

The vehicle is also equipped with OLED graphics that allow the driver to change the look of the car according to the requirements. With a lightweight construction, the vehicle promises to save on precious energy.
