Eco Factor: Low-emission supercar designed to be powered by a gas/electric hybrid engine.
Kepler Motors has announced the development of a hybrid supercar, which will be unveiled at the 2009 Dubai International Motor Show. Dubbed the Motion, the hybrid car features Ford’s new Ecoboost engine, which uses a twin-turbo direct injection 3.5-liter V-6 engine to power the rear wheels, and an electric motor that drives the front set.
The gas engine according to Kepler produces a whopping 550 hp of power, and the electric engine produces an addition 250 hp. With a combined output of 800 hp, the car can hit a speed of 60mph in under 2.5 seconds. To ensure that the horsepower doesn’t get negated due to the weight of the vehicle, the Motion uses a carbon-fiber body, along with carbon ceramic brake motors. Kepler will build only 50 cars, with production starting in 2011.
