Eco Factor: Zero emission car to be powered by electricity.
Ray Lane, a major investor in Kleiner Perkins, has stated that Fisker Automotive is working on a new plug-in hybrid that would sell for $39,000 and will be available in 2012. The car will be produced in a refurbished factory, probably on the East Coast of the United States.
The company is aiming to produce 100,000 low-cost plug-in hybrids at the plant. Lane further added that the company will make money on these low-cost vehicles, even though the batteries in them would cost around $15,000.
