Eco Factor: Concept postage vehicle designed to be powered by electric motors.
Electric engines have shown their potential in cars and bikes. However, when it comes to vehicles which run throughout the day like buses, trucks or even postage vehicles, electricity doesn’t seem to be a perfect fuel. Industrial Designer Hugo Plazas has a different opinion – he thinks that with the right kind of technology available, vehicles that are operated continually can also take on electricity for a clearer environment.
The Canada Post Vehicle is what Hugo has come up with, which is a stylish extended range electric car that has been designed for everyday city courier drivers. The rechargeable, plug-in electric vehicle is designed to substantially reduce trips to the gas station.
This particular design will need no oil changes or tune ups as all that it has in the form of an engine is a 30KW AC motor that is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack. The vehicle can run for about 60 miles on a single charge with a top speed of about 70mph.
