Eco Factor: BMW to roll out fuel efficient M1-based supercar.

We all love supercars and the thrill we get in riding in one. Looking at all those turning heads gives an amazing sense of confidence and accomplishment. But in gaining all that we sometimes place the environment in jeopardy, as supercars are not always ecofriendly. Earlier we saw the hydrogen powered Scorpion sports car and now we soon will have a new sports car from BMW that will incorporate multiple green technologies developed by the company.

The company is planning to roll out a new fuel efficient sports car that is based on the M1 concept. The two-seater vehicle would come with all the latest eco technologies onboard. These include direct injection, efficient dynamics, brake energy regeneration, start-stop, and Kinetic Energy Recovery System. To make sure that drivers get all the thrill they need in a sports car, this beast will most likely be powered by a 3.0-liter twin turbo six cylinder engine that should be able to burn the road in mere seconds.

The Dark Side:

Currently we don’t have detailed engine specifications of this car, but if it gets a 3.0-liter engine, we are sure that any level of fuel-efficiency would not be able to make the car completely green. Any incorporation of hybrid technologies will surely refine things for BMW.
