EcoFactor: BMWs iconic MINI to get an electric engine.
BMW will soon be launching their reinvented MINI during the LA Auto Show, to be held next month. The car would be equipped with a 572-pound lithium-ion battery pack, which will take the MINI to 150 miles after just 8 hours of charging.
The electric engine doesn’t mean that the car would go slow, as it still packs the punch of 204-horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque, which will shoot the MINI from a standstill to 60 mph in just 8 seconds. The top speed of this car, however, will be limited to 95 mph. The weight of the powerhouse of this car would be around 260kg, which would mean that the E-MINI would weigh somewhere around 1500kg. Energy consumption of this car is put around 4.4 miles/KWh.
The Dark Side:
The only thing we fear can keep this car from car lovers is the top speed limitation of just 95mph.
