Eco Factor: Hybrid yacht promises reduced emissions.
For all those who want luxury and sustainability in the same package, Kingship has unveiled their latest yacht that gets powered by a hybrid engine and is equipped with a host of modern amenities.
The Green Voyager, as the yacht has been christened, is to be built using sustainable building practices and materials that will make it complaint with RINA’s Green Star Plus Class notation. The yacht will carry heat reflecting glass, high efficiency insulation, a heat recovery systems, heat pump and gas treatment system that will reduce power demand by an average of 20%.
The Green Voyager will be offered with three different propulsion systems that include the use of a conventional generator and main engine but of a smaller size, a semi-hybrid mode that uses the conventional propulsion system along with power from a high-tech battery bank and a full hybrid mode that adds shaft generators to the semi-hybrid mode.
In addition to the ecofriendly propulsion system, the yacht will make use of sustainable materials such as bamboo and exotic natural fabrics accessorized by objects from the tropic zones the yacht will visit.
