Eco Factor: Neyland Stadium replica made from trashed electronic components.

While the world today is trying hard to find ways to encourage people to safely dispose of all the electronic waste that is generated in their homes, designers are up to the task by creating stunning sculptures from chips that were once a part of somebody’s hi-tech lifestyle.

Eco-minded artist Dace Mann has created a small scale replica of Neyland Stadium and the Sunsphere from pieces of electronic parts he and his friends collected. The replica is 8-inches wide, 10-inches long and soars about 4-inches into the sky.

The artist didn’t make use of a kit, neither did he make any plans before erecting the stadium. All he used was some images on the internet. The stadium now consists of around 250 ICs that were painted white and then glued to create rows and skyboxes. The Jumbtron was once a cellphone’s display screen and the field was actually sandpaper that was painted green.

Two sets of small lights which are powered by a battery pack with 4 AA batteries illuminate the stadium at the flip of a switch.
