Eco Factor: Solar-powered LEDs for recycled plastic bottle chandeliers.
Ecofriendly artists have been regular in casting chandeliers and other lighting systems from recycled plastic bottles. Aurora Robson is another designer who creates stunning pieces of lighting art from something we don’t even like to see littered on the street – plastic bottles.
Taking recycling skills to a new level, the designer has now created intricate chandeliers which not only prevent plastic bottles from reaching the landfill, but also ensures that illuminating these chandeliers is as ecofriendly as the manufacturing process. The chandeliers glow on LED lights which are powered by solar energy. Robson’s artwork has prevented about 20,000 plastic bottles from reaching the landfill till now.
