Eco Factor: 3D portraits created from trash.
While for most people trashed items hold no value, there is no dearth of artists who use other people’s trash as raw materials for something new and better. Eco-conscious artist Jason Mecier knows the true value of trash produced by celebrities and uses it to make 3D portraits of those celebrities.
Each of the artist’s pieces is intensely person to its subject and includes materials such as moldy slippers, anti-itch creams, dirty laundry and some electronic waste as well. The artist claims that each image can take 50 hours to two months to produce. While some of the trash used in the portraits is sourced from the celebrities, other bits and pieces are donated by Jason’s friends and family members.
