Eco Factor: Greenhouse design for Aarhus University campus.
Denmark-based architecture firm CEBRA has unveiled the plan for a new botanical garden and greenhouse for the Aarhus University. The project was designed for a building competition that required the restoration of existing buildings and builds a new one on the campus, which brings greenery and nature to the campus.
The Vaeksthuset Botanical Garden will cover an area of over 29,000 square feet and provide a vast expanse of flora and fauna at the campus. The interiors of this greenhouse will feature round pods, which will be inspired by natural forms. The largest dome of the sustainable greenhouse will be covered in a glass roof to let in natural light for the plants and the people visiting the greenhouse.
The greenhouse will be accompanied by more sustainable spaces for offices and cafes. The third space will be an uncovered outdoor garden to add to the green aesthetics, which the botanical garden project will bring to the university campus.
