EcoFactor: A self-powered floating eco-city that carries green goodness across the planet.
MAD is an architecture firm that lives up to its name each time they attempt a project, and by that we mean quite literally. We have already seen their strange, yet green design take shape in the form of the Sinosteel International Plaza in Tianjin and irrespective of how it was ridiculed, people at MAD still said that it was great. Now they take their already fancy concepts into a future that gets more crazy and unbelievable. Webstar is a giant floating star that contains a city that is self-powered, self-sustainable and completely green.
This giant floating star can camp above any city in the world and can house a perfect green city of 15,000 people. With its own ability to produce power, utilize resources by recycling them and even a digital cemetery, the Webstar seems too good and green to be real.
The Dark Side:
It is pretty obvious that this concept seems more like a fancy dream that is not based in reality at all. At this point in time, we just do not have technology to create a city that is even close to the vision of Webstar. While a self-sustainable and self-powered complete green city sounds great, it is just not practically possible. MAD better say what the technology is, or even the theory behind this vague dream of theirs before people really start believing that they indeed are โmad.โ
