Eco Factor: Restaurant created from sustainable materials.
Designers over at DSA+s have created an outdoor Japanese Noodle restaurant that can easily be assembled and disassembled. The sustainable restaurant has been created using bamboo as the main material. The minimalist restaurant has been designed to protect the visitors from sun, wind and rain, while providing a comfortable open-air seating area.
Inspired by the form of an umbrella, the structure features giant “umbrellas” that overlap each other to become a giant roof. The giant roof functioned as a shelter and also as a gutter for rain, directing rainwater to the ground via a pipe in the center of the structure.
The bamboo structure is tied up by a rope and each roof is supported by four bamboos, which are tied up with cross beams. The roof cover, which is also made from bamboo, is used to prevent water dripping and protect the structure from direct sunlight.
