Dimaond Developers to build Dubai’s first eco friendly city

solar energy mpzyy 69 Diamond Developers, the UAE-based real estate development company has come up with the innovative idea of building Dubai’s first self-sustainable city. This city will be adopting green methods to generate power, reduce carbon emissions, recycle sewage etc. The design is in its final stage and work should begin anytime soon. As per the design, the city will have its own solar power farm and 70 percent of the city will be green space. Diamond Developers’ have done various other prestigious projects and to name a few – 23-building Diamond Business Centre in Arjan, Diamond Views in Jumeirah Village in Dubai and the six-building Marina Diamond in Dubai Marina. Their unique eco-friendly design tries to overcome every little cause of environmental pollution. They have thought of ways of conserving electricity, water through natural resources. The solar power farm will source the electricity needs of the cities. Sewage and wastewater will be recycled and used for irrigation purposes. There will be an integrated waste treatment system to treat and recycle the city waster to reduce the amount of carbon emissions. Another remarkable idea is the city residents will have a public transport system that functions on solar energy. The 70 percent green space will have gardens and farms producing organic food products. This will ensure that the residents get chemicals free food and provide for their nutritional needs. The city will feature its own mosque, hospital, school and multi-use complex. Besides this, there will be a resort of 143 rooms within the city. The residents of this city will definitely experience what it is like to live in a pollution free environment practicing eco-friendly methods. This experience will be different from those living in a hi-tech city. Faris Saeed, chairman of Diamond Developers, commented:

There will also be a solar energy farm and a green belt of 100,000 qaaf and palm trees, stretching along 8km in and around the city that will be able to accommodate 2,500 families.

This project will be completed in four phases and the expected completion date is 2016. The infrastructure and landscaping works is expected to start during the second half of this year. Via: Arabian Business
