Dave Schlier’s camera shutter release crafted from a recycled mouse

mouse shutter release

Have you ever thought of transforming your old pc mouse into something, let’s say, a camera shutter release panel! Dave Schlier has come up with a solution for Pentax and Canon owners. The respective buttons of the mouse are used for the half-pressed autofocus mode and triggering the shutter to take an image.

All you need is a mouse and a 3/32″ stereo jack. This technology is applicable for Pentax and Canon cameras incorporating a 2.5mm (3/32″) stereo monopug using the middle and inner pins as split contacts and the outer (large) pin as a common attachement.

All you need is –a 3/32″ stereo jack (solder connections), 3 or 4 wire cable (I used phone wire), old 2-button mouse. Just hit here for more info.
