Cristal Electric Vehicle: Urban commuting made clean and cozy

cristal 1

As we talked about it earlier, urban commuting and reduction of on-road pollution by designing greener and cleaner way to do so has been consuming many a designer since long. There are so many concept creations out there that help in this direction that we sometimes wish automotive companies stopped investing in the ‘next big car’ and pushed for such clean technology. The Cristal Electric Vehicle falls in the exact same category.

Designed by Didier Mandart, the Cristal Electric Vehicle uses independent electric pods that are remotely controlled by an operator on pre-determined paths. The pods can be used either as individual units or can be clubbed together in case there is a larger crowd that is travelling on the same route. The all-electric pods are completely emission free, spacious, can seat 6 individuals and eliminate on all noise pollution as well.

A convoy of these vehicles reduces the space between each of them and hence traffic congestion. Easy to drive and perfect for the rush hour ride, Cristal can be used in more ways than one. With sliding doors, an in-built communication system and smooth ride, you will barely feel the stress that you normally encounter with a daily commute.

Hopefully concepts like the Cristal Electric Vehicle will have some big boys from the industrial world backing them, so that they can jump out of our screen and become reality.
