What you are looking at could possibly be the future headquarters of ‘Benetton Group’ in Tehran. Of course, the design has not been finalized yet, but we would not mind seeing this audaciously beautiful edifice take center stage as the new beacon of green architecture in the Middle East. Designed to capture the abstract beauty of modern engineering, inspired from the Persian traditions and imbibing green energy options, the design from the team of Ergian Alberg, Laura Aquili, Alessio Pucci, Alexandros Franzolini looks prefect in every sense of the word.
The building is made of three simple structures that interact to form a unique space that offers both visual splendor and practicality alike. The inside of the building is filled with natural lighting to minimize the energy costs while the exterior is laced with photovoltaic panels to tap into solar power. With its unique natural heating and cooling system thanks to the design, energy consumption is kept to a minimum.
With its low energy consumption and ability to make its own energy thanks to solar power, the ‘zero-energy’ building never has to tap into conventional sources of power for functioning. The dynamic pattern emerges in the middle to offer generous workspace, while the flexible top floor allows you to use the space in more than just one way. No matter in which way you look at it (both literally and figuratively), this is one green marvel and we sure hope goes a long way beyond the drawing board!
