Computerized conversion of JP8 to hydrogen for US Army

fuel processorConverting JP8 military fuel to fuel-cell hydrogen has gone fully computerized. A fully automated computer-controlled pilot plant has been designed by Unitel Technologies. It is next month; this unit will be shipped to the US Army Communications Electronics Command at Fort Belvoir in Virginia, after mechanical tests at Unitel.

The Unitel system will be used by Fort Belvoir’s US Army Fuel Cell Technology Team. With it they will fine-tune the process, and convert a logistical fuel into hydrogen. And hence, it will help operate a solid oxide fuel-cell stack. And the end objective will be to generate ‘quiet power’ on the enemies’ front. This technology will also be used to power trucks and other military vehicle units.
