Combat paper – Pen is mightier than the sword

ww1

Pen is the tongue of the mind, it is a tool to exercise your freedom and it gives you the right to be heard. Pushed in a foreign land as a soldier, when you know not the cause and end of it, Iraq veterans against war alongwith Drew Matott and Drew Cameron initiated a collaborative project.
The uniforms, a source of pride and belonging, were molested by cutting, cooking and beating until they took the shape of paper on which these fighters write their experiences. They reclaim their uniforms as a piece of art and try to make peace with what they went through. Times can change and war between archers can be replaced by war between gunmen, but the revolt and need for peace will always use a pen, the pen is mightier than a sword after all.
