Eco Factor: Concept car powered by electric batteries.
Columbia has unveiled its new low-speed electric vehicle, the Crossline, at the Washington Auto Show. The concept car, which has been designed in association with Aixiam Mega, is expected to roll out by the end of the year at a MSRP of under $20,000.
The company uses a lead-acid based powertrain that has been under development for the last five years. For the Crossline, the company is considering using absorbed glass mat batteries. With this powertrain the vehicle is expected to hit a top speed of 25mph and 35mph in the jurisdictions that allow it.
