As the roads are flooded with run-of-the-mill electric mopeds, industrial designer Nina Augustsson dared to conceive a model that focuses on the needs of the disabled but without making it much prominent. Based on existing moped called Sportster SE made by a company, Pernova, it is a brilliant blend of form and function. Teaming up with Reza Tajik, Nina has dubbed this eco-friendly as well disabled friendly vehicle as Colisa, after an orange aquarium fish. That’s what it looks like from the side. The original Big rear wheels and large ground clearance have been maintained but they have tweaked a few things like adjustment of the handlebars and adjustable arm rests.
Crafted out of a light metal frame, it comes fixed with a wind screen and rear view mirrors. Since it is targeted primarily for the disabled, the upper part of the frame can be folded back to allows effortless hop in or hop out. Even the seat can be rotated and the armrest can be folded up for uber convenience.
I believe that this chic moped will appeal to all…..not only the physically challenged!
