Click & Grow has unveiled a range of high-tech planters that make growing houseplants a set and forget exercise. The planter has been designed for those who love houseplants but mostly don’t have much time to take care of their little green friends. The manufacturers of this unique system claim that once connected to the computer, the onboard sensors monitor the progress, via a processor and special software contained in the pot.
Instead of growing plants the messy way, the Click & Grow system relies on aeroponics. The basic models of the system include notification lights to let growers know when the water tank needs refilling, while the more expensive systems even free growers of this task by harvesting water from air.
All the grower has to do is to place the plant cartridge in the pot and connect it to a computer via a USB cable to download the appropriate growth program to suit the plant’s needs. The pot then constantly measures all of the parameters affecting plant growth to ensure the plant receives the best of tailored care. The basic model retails at around €17, with seed cartridges selling for around €4.
