Just because you’ve have tried your creative skills at Lego (when you were a kid) to build buildings and blocks, don’t you think you can build equally superior and sustainable constructions as you grow up. Even if you have mastered the architecture degree, it doesn’t really promise a green future for you or for our environment. In today’s eco-aware world, where escalating towers are grabbing all the limelight, these kinda eco-friendly, affordable and energy efficient complexes will show a profit. Profit for the bank balances of those seeking and making homes and also ultra profitable for our planet. Working to reduce the environmental impact of housing through modernization in design for Brainstones, Christensen&Co has come up with an ambitious and innovative project. Focusing on factors like low cost, high energy efficiency and quality housing, their entry did get shortlisted for the Low cost housing within12,000m² project.
They have achieved this by clever repetition of a few pre-fab units. The two opposing sides of terraced houses create a distinctive space between them which serves as a green common area and provides circulation area for the residents.
From the images, I can say that it seems to be a dream complex with so much of open space and greenness around. Don’t mind investing in such a green affordable house!
