The world is moving forward on a green path and the automobile industry is following that path by revamping its designs to satisfy the growing demands of the eco conscious consumers across the planet. No individual market is aloof to this fact or can afford to ignore the growing green standards that automobiles need to possess. While producing hybrid vehicles is easy for the developed nations across the planet, it is the market of the developing nations that needs to adapt itself to the changing world priorities. With economic factors being such an important part of the commercial equation in the markets of developing nations, it is no wonder that it took nearly 6 years for a nation like China to roll out a self-produced hybrid engine powered sedan. But now it has finally arrived.
Chang’an Automobile has rolled out the Jiexun-HEV which is China’s first self-produced hybrid-power sedan. It has been developed using China’s own intellectual property and own home-grown technology. The launch of this sedan is to herald China’s mastering of core technologies in hybrid-power system. The car has been under work for over 6 long years now and finally it has been molded in to a product ready to hit the show rooms.
With it being completely made with Chinese technology and made in China, the price of this wonderful piece is expected to be a lot lesser than its counterparts that are being imported from western markets. The makers of the Sedan also told the media at the unveiling of the masterpiece that they would be giving 10 of these to the Beijing Olympics as a donation. Now from when did Olympics need donations from car makers? It is the less privileged ones like me that deserve the donation; if not 10, then at least one.
