Chevy’s Equinox: An automobile revolution!

If I had to crown something as “the (& that’s a long sounding “the”) Eco-friendly” technology then it has to go to Chevrolet’s Equinox. Now this in no regards means that, I think all the other innovative ideas brought up off late are not good enough. I say so because I think here & this is the technology that will pave way for a better tomorrow & would have wide-based, serious ramifications on future technology. I just love this car & trust me it takes a lot for me to like a car that is not branded “Scuderia Ferrari” (no, I don’t own one, don’t even ask)

So coming back to the matter of “Equinox” & away from Ferrari, the car is supposed to be based on Hydrogen Fuel Cell technology. Now this is a technology that is widely spoken about as the “fuel for the future”. It uses Hydrogen as a fuel & releases water vapor as exhaust! No, I’m not kidding guys, it’s true. That is why Chevrolet claims “No Emissions” as a caption. The company has invested a lot in this venture & I’m damn sure it’s more than worth the effort. Now Chevy has gone out & braded the car as “A car for the future, with a fuel for the future…so that we have a future”. What? They didn’t use that caption yet? Ok, then they better buy the patent rights from me.

All kidding apart folks, this truly is wonderful for the direction in which technology would evolve for the future. At this point you cannot emphasize enough on what it means to bring such a technology out to a wide market & make it available. It’s one thing to have it on paper, but a totally different ball game to put it out there & to show it actually works. I always had one concern about “Hydrogen fuel” though & that is that it’s just too explosive & dangerous. But Chevy assures that all the testing has been done. So you want to pick a car & can afford this beauty then please go for it. For once I request without sarcasm (& that, my friends, is rare). Though I still have one question in mind, why the name “Equinox”? Anyone.
