Eco Factor: Sustainable house made from recycled shipping containers
28 cargo containers became a multi-function exhibition hall. Well, this is what you will see in Seoul, South Korea. Called the “Platoon Kunsthalle”, the unique structure combines ingenious architecture with green aspects. The structure that was commercially opened on 11th April 2009 houses commercial galleries and luxury brand stores.
Platoon Kunsthalle provides a communication platform to people who have a soft corner for subcultural creative fields like street art, fashion, graphic design, programming, video art, music, club culture, political activism etc. Exhibitions, concerts, movie nights, multimedia performances, workshops, discussion panels and special event will constitute in depicting subculture.
In order to enhance creativity in young upcoming artists from Korea and around the globe, four scholarship programs are run wherein the artists are given opportunity to develop creative projects at the Platoon Kunsthalle. It is such a beautiful and artistic mix of architecture, sustainability and creativity.
