Bubbling under- Biodegradable Bubble Gum Refuse Bin

gumbin

Good news for all the bubble gum lovers and haters.

We need not have stringent laws like Singapore to control the menace that the gum causes. Anna Bullus has come with a better idea.

Through intensive research, the designer has brought a whole new meaning to chewing gum.

She has made a material known as Gumnetic, a biodegradable material made out of recycled chewing gum and bio resin.

Using this composition, she has made a street side refuse for disposing the chewing gum. The bin itself will store material required to make new bins in the form of chewed up chewing gums, therefore a 100% sustainable product.

Along with the bin, she ahs also made recycled gum pillow.

Unique in itself, the product offers a practical solution to the problem that chewing gum causes.

Every year hundreds and thousands of dollars are spent on cleaning up the ruckus of chewing gum.

London’s Westminster Council recently released figures showing that it had spent more than £100,000 a year to remove chewing gum from its streets; in Oxford the total was £45,000.

Scientists in the UK have recently claimed to create a chewing gum material that does not stick, the creation is waiting for approval from the health department.

Anna Bullus’ Gumnetic Bin seems a more pragmatic and viable option, only if the people use it!
