Eco Factor: Sustainable mixed-use development incorporates energy saving technologies.
Broadway Malyan Architects have proposed a sustainable mixed-use development for Putrajaya, Malaysia that comprises of two different plots interconnected with an overhead bridge. Dubbed Putrajaya Lakeside, the plot on the waterfront side of the development, includes serviced apartments above retail, food and beverage, and a recreational plinth.
The inland plot provides space for offices and food and beverage outlets that are arranged around a civic space. Both the plots include skygardens that better the ambience and also help in reducing the heat island effect, thereby reducing the building’s overall energy consumption.
