Feng Shui explores the effect of opposites and extremes and taking advantage of all the benefits form this 4,000 year old discipline in our contemporary lifestyle, Beijing focuses on the concept to create an environment that is healthier, more supportive, and more inspiring ever built.

Beijing Oval- that’s the name and clearly suggests what it might look like. However, after getting closer to the concept and feel the chi’ it’s more than what the name suggests. Dazing the world, Beijing focuses on maintaining the heart of the existing factory around which it will be built and making it a central landmark of the new master plan.

Converting the factory’s four large exhaust stacks into museums, restaurants and cafes is unusually rare and the most striking feature that will set the line for the coming concepts to break from the orthodox and stand out from the rest in the race of making it really green.

The oval, housing mainly commercial space will be surrounded by the towers offering residential accommodation in the upper storeys. To give it that extra touch of the futuristic concept – all the buildings will harness renewable energy sources and be designed to maximize natural ventilation with water storage, ground water levels and grey water usage.

The oval development creates over 5 million square meters of usable commercial space while the towers add a further 2 million square meters for mixed use with underground tunneled roads and parking access maintaining the openness of the public park.

The idea of making most part of the site easily accessible for pedestrians rather than vehicles will reduce congestion, noise and air pollution, further enhancing the people-friendliness of the space. Scattered with large round lakes and nature reserves stocked with fish and wildlife, the public space will create opportunities for recreational and sporting activities such as boating and fishing. There’s no doubt that it would be the next destination for tourism, leisure and commerce that too in the vibrant metropolis of Beijing.
