Tennessee has been blessed to have a new hospital that serves the rapidly growing population of North Knox County. The $72 million structure planned and designed by BarberMcMurry Architects in collaboration with HDR architects is based on the principles of sustainability.
Residing on 50 acres site, Mercy Health Partners’ new hospital houses two medical office buildings, a health and fitness center, and a cancer, imaging and women’s center. The medical center strongly believes in the mantra “Patient First”. Special focus has been on designing rooms for patients that are safe and comfortable.
It includes green features like low energy-loss glass and energy-efficient lighting. Certain portion of the roofs has green plantation that apart from reducing heat gain also provides improved views for patients. Other features include reflective light fixtures and high-quality soundproofing to reduce vibration noise.
