Bambus: Making data transfer and storage all the more greener!

I have seen plenty of USB devices and Flash drives in the past few months that are crafted from jewels and are fit for some royal king or queen. But then, we here at Ecofriend think and work differently and consider only the environment to be the one true emperor that is all conquering. So a royal USB memory stick for us is something that is green, clean and mean data storing machine. We much rather take recycled trash over freshly made plastic. So we bring to you the ‘Bambus’, and it is as good an USB as you will ever get.

Designed by Gernot Oberfell, Bambus is a 2GB USB memory stick where utilizing the bamboo uses in design. The Bambus case is made from bamboo tree which is a very fast growing resource. Bamboo grows at an almost alarmingly fast pace and that means that you are not harming the environment by taking away greenery from it. As long as we do not pick Bamboo from the Panda territory, it is totally fine, I guess. The Bamboo used for Bambus is obviously farmed and not wild, which makes a lot more sense too.

Since the bamboo structure and surface is very hard and therefore makes it an ideal nature resource, to create an everyday object such as USB stick. Bambus is very strong and durable and if you ever happen to receive a caning with a Bamboo (and I hope you didn’t), then you would never question its strength one bit. Bambus is an ideal and simple green extension for your machine and it could help you get started on the green path. Wonder if they will ever make a PC out of Bamboo! Not a bad idea, is it?
